Adding a new background to an old tattoo

   Posted by: Moniz   in Uncategorized

The outer part of this half sleeve was done by Chris Moniz some 6-7 years back. Since then, this gentleman had gone to another tattoo artist to get the inside of his arm tattooed. The artist who had done the inside did an alright job, however, did not have the  presence of mind to use a background that would make the sleeve as a whole connect and be unified. This other tattoo artist had done some staggered wind bars that did not connect. Mo’s task in this session was to re-do the existing background so that the half sleeve tattoo will all flow and be unified. Here is the result…

inner arm

background work around existing tattoo

back part of arm

shading to unify two tattoos

back ground shade

unified tattoo using background
